Customs in Logistics & Supply Chain | Where knowledge meets practice

Following Thematic Seminar 2 – Sales Logistics, the Department of Logistics, Faculty of Economics, Danang Architecture University continued to bring students Thematic Seminar 3: Customs in Logistics and Supply Chain – an important topic that helps students better understand the activities taking place behind every shipment on its import-export journey.

Accompanying students in the seminar was MSc. Cao Văn Nhân – Head of Da Nang Port Border Gate Customs, who shared insights drawn directly from his work. From the role of customs in logistics and supply chain activities, import-export procedures and operations, to issues related to international trade, students had the opportunity to approach the subject from the perspective of someone working directly in the field.

In particular, as international trade is increasingly affected by market fluctuations, the requirements for logistics professionals go beyond mastering transport processes or cargo management. Correctly understanding regulations, identifying risks and knowing how to handle issues arising during customs clearance are also important competencies to ensure the smooth flow of goods.

Going beyond receiving knowledge, students were placed in real-life situations and case studies, analysing, discussing and debating together to see more clearly how customs regulations affect the flow of goods, supply chains and import-export activities. Through specific situations, concepts that seemed confined to textbooks were linked to problems that logistics professionals may actually encounter in their careers.

This is also how the Department of Logistics brings the classroom closer to practice: learning from specialised knowledge, comparing it with real situations and developing thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills. Each seminar not only broadens understanding of the industry but also helps students better envision the work they will take on after entering the labour market.

Learn to understand – learn to do – and learn to be ready for the profession. This is also the spirit running throughout Logistics training at Danang Architecture University.
